The Project
Inspiration for the viewing platforms was taken from the construction of toboggans and canoes, two objects that are synonymous with living in the north. The intent of the viewing platforms, which house interpretive panels and maps are to entice the viewer to seek out the spirit walkway path.
Jury Comments
This project was done with joy – it is sensuous and elegant and engages the sites and the viewer in a very direct manner. It looks as though the entire project could be constructed with two trades using primarily two materials, steel and wood. ‘Simply beautiful' would describe it accurately.
