Practice Committee: National Codes - Free Access to Electronic Versions

As a number of MAA members may already be aware, earlier this year, the National Research Council announced that access was now available to electronic copies of National Building, Fire, Plumbing and Energy Codes (as well as some provincial codes) relative to the following periods:
- 2015 - 2017 Codes and Guides;
- 2010 - 2011 Codes and Guides;
- 2005 Codes and Guides; and
- Historical editions of National Construction Codes and Guides (1941 - 1998);
at no cost.
Electronic copies appear to be available in the following formats:
- downloadable, offline pdf files, with printing permitted; and
- single user, online subscriptions, with limited printing (20 pages per print request);
for Code publications. User's Guides have limited printing available in the single use online subscription only.

It should also be noted that print versions of the Codes continue to remain available, at significantly reduced costs.
